Craig, has a confident juxtaposition of technical, creative and problem solving abilities. He’s had a varied career starting with over a decade in the radio industry at the likes of Key 103, BRMB, Heart FM and Century Radio. As a copywriter, producer and sound engineer of adverts, jingles and promos he worked his way up to commercial production department manager. He is now the IT Manager at Russell Scott Primary School where IT support, infrastructure, iPads, Interactive touchscreens, blog design and management , video productions, school productions, IT training and heaps more make every day a unique combination of technical and creative challenges.
The focus of Russell Scott Primary is always the best possible outcome for all children and Craig believes, ‘ technology in recent years has taken a broader and more significant place in children’s learning.’ Handheld devices like iPads give children real, all-day access to modern technology (technology-on-demand) to support all their learning in and out of the classroom. Russell Scott, is a school based Apple regional training centre and Craig says, ‘this is where teachers from across Tameside and beyond can get skilled-up and inspired on how iPads can invigorate pupils learning.’ Craig is a great believer in creativity through technology, ‘where the canvas changes from a blank white piece of paper to a blank white screen. Regardless of age, new skills and techniques can be learned for any digital canvas but it is still our imagination and self-expression that will flourish and triumph given the opportunity.
