I am a very proactive person who enjoys new challenges and embraces change. I have been employed in the Further Education sector for over sixteen years gaining a range of experience in business planning and curriculum development in relation to local labour market needs, skills gaps and economic benefit. I began my career in FE as a lecturer progressing to management roles with responsibility for curriculum management, quality assurance and business development. In my current position as Commercial Director at Tameside College I lead on the commercial work of the college, including work place delivery and apprenticeships. I currently have an additional responsibility of managing the faculty of Business and Retail Services covering a range of academic and vocational curriculum.
I have been a governor at the Manchester Communication Academy for over 5 years and I am chairperson of the Trust for the Young People’s Support Foundation who support young homeless people in Manchester. For over ten years I have been the National Treasurer for the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) organising annual student competitions across the UK.
In my spare time I enjoy walking with my two rescued Staffordshire bull terriers.
